Fast Focus
The Great Give Away
One time-tested way to attract prosperity is to give generously of
what you have. Giving generously ensues from and generates a sense of
well-being. Giving is delight in action, and it attracts more delight
to the giver and receiver who can participate with open hearts.
Test this principle for yourself. Ask yourself what can you give with
a generous spirit, a generous heart, a generous hand. Name it, then
act on it. Do it again. Notice how it feels to give freely and who or
what shows up as a result. As you experience the benefits that flow
from practicing generosity, you'll be less and less inclined to equate
giving with loss or deprivation. You'll find more and more ways to
give, and--what do you know?--there will be more and more for you to
give away.

Open for Business
Call and Response
[Revised and reprinted from the April 8, 2002, issue of The New Leaf.]
We must ask two important questions in order to respond to a soulful
calling: What am I being asked to take on in order to achieve this
dream? What am I willing to let go of? In other words, we must not
only hear the call, we must make room for our response.
To live in response to a deep calling in your business, your career,
or your personal life means asking and answering these twin questions
on a continuing basis, and always as if they were brand new questions.
Sometimes, when you ask, you will know that you are called to let go
of your fear of failure for the sake of playing a bigger game and
serving a greater need than your own comfort.
Sometimes you will know that it is time to turn away from beckoning
opportunities for the sake of renewing your spirit and recharging your
body.
Sometimes you will know that you must master your moods so that you
and not your history can write the next chapter of your life.
Sometimes you will know that you must reveal your most vulnerable core
so that you can be appreciated, valued, and cared for by others.
There is no one formula, no one tip or technique that will reveal your
next step to you. Just asking and listening, asking and listening.
