Border Crossings

How do you get from idea to action? From wish to fulfillment? You cross the border from metaphysical reality, where an image is a done deal, into physical reality, where considerable energy must be expended in creating results and in moving through obstacles to those results.

There are two challenges in crossing this border. The first challenge is to our reality testing. Because it takes so little energy to create big shifts in the metaphysical realm, it is easy to underestimate the energy that must be expended in order to manifest those shifts in the physical world. As a result we may set out for the border with inadequate preparation, and stop before we reach our goal, convinced that we simply donít have what it takes.

The second challenge at the border is even more visceral. It is simply fear of the border region itself. Our psyches regard the border as a hazardous place, as evidenced by countless spaghetti westerns. Something in us would much prefer staying in the safety of dreamland, even if it means that our dreams never become reality.

Given these two challenges, how can we make effective border crossings? Iím sold on a formula promulgated by The Academy for Coach Training: Clarity, Alignment and Action. We begin by being clear about where we want to go and what we have to do to get there. We then equip ourselves in alignment with our values, intentions and resources to meet the challenges along the way. Only then do act, prepared by our clear intention and supported by our alignment with forces that support a successful outcome.

It still takes a lot of energy to cross the border. But after all, we are comprised of energy and live in a universe overflowing with energy. Why not learn to use it?
