As a coach I am called to hold my clients whole, resourceful, and capable. I respond to their trust and commitment by calling forth from them their best selves, their deepest longings, their truest dreams. What an incredible honor.
My reward for this happy work is the opportunity to witness the ways in which each of us is brilliant, the ways in which we each shine uniquely in all the universe. Do I sound sappy? So be it. This is my experience: when we show up in a relationship, such as coaching, willing to act in alignment with the promptings of our soul and to live as if we were loveable and capable, then we become the people we always wanted to be.
It is not, of course, always easy, but I think that if we listen deeply we will find that our hearts long for authenticity, connection and integrity more than for ease. When we allow ourselves to experience both creativity and confusion, competence and chaos, we stop living small stories and step into richly textured dramas worthy of our commitment and our labor. The mystery is that once we step into that commitment, we find a core of effortlessness that sustains us even as we struggle.
This week, let's each notice the opportunities we are given to give and receive love. Let these opportunities become the foundation for stories about beautiful, loveable YOU.
