Area Business Coach Retained by NASA
Molly Gordon, President of Shaboom Inc, a business and marketing coaching firm based in Suquamish, has been retained by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of the Creativity and Innovation Program at NASA's Langley Research Center (NSAA-LARC). Gordon is tailoring her Authentic Promotion program for the agency, and will lead a two day workshop at NASA-LARC, in Hampton, Virginia, in May.
Gordon developed Authentic Promotion® for entrepreneurs and others who love their work but balk at promoting it. The program can dissolve obstacles to effective promotion by grounding best marketing practices in the values, strengths, and mission of individuals and organizations. "It provides a framework for challenging and revising the assumptions that keep people stuck so that they can advocate for the work they love and do best."
At NASA, the program will be offered to engineers and researchers who are frequently called on to write and advocate for the kind of high-risk and high-pay-off research the agency excels in. Pam Haley, an engineer in the Dynamics and Control Branch who took the Authentic Promotion course by phone last year, credits it with making internal marketing "a lot more natural, authentic and even enjoyable."
LARC leads NASA initiatives in aviation safety, quiet aircraft technology, small aircraft transportation, and aerospace vehicles system technology. It supports NASA space programs with atmospheric research and technology testing and development.
Gordon has earned the International Coach Federation's highest professional credential, Master Certified Coach, and has been in private practice since 1996. She pioneered use of the Internet to market professional services, and her website (mollygordon.com) and complimentary weekly e-zine, The New Leaf, reach over 15,000 readers and surfers weekly.
